Trick or Treat in Madison Park
Friday, October 31, starting at 4 pm, the annual Halloween Trick or Treat celebration takes off in the business district. Local Shops will provide candy and delight to all the costumed trick o’ treaters. Added this year are a Costumed Pup Parade (meet by the tennis courts at 4), the Madison Park Preschool Co-op Photo Booth (at Triangle Park), a DeeJay and more….
FOMP will close the final block of Madison St E as well as two residential blocks on 41st E.
This is done to ensure the safety of the small children who swarm the streets trick or treating and allow for a small family-oriented block party and community event.
These two areas will be closed to through traffic from 3:30PM to 6:30 PM. We will have volunteers helping to direct traffic and allowing currently parked cars to exit as needed.
The road closures will not impede the bus route or emergency services.
Map of the closed blocks is HERE.

Ruth Dalton and Prince Remembrance
Join us in remembering Ruth Dalton and her little Prince on the one-year anniversary of their senseless and violent murders. We are asking the community she loved so dearly to come together to honor her legacy of love and kindness.
We will meet on 43rd Avenue East, just south of Madison Street where the city will have installed a plaque in memory of Ruth and Prince near a bench overlooking the Madison Park Beach, she so frequented. Family, friends and city officials will talk about the loss, update on the case and what has been done to make our communities safer.
Join us after the plaque ceremony at McGilvra’s for Yappy Hour. Get a pic of your pup stamped on a pint of Guinness, a Puptail featuring Tito’s or a pint of Prince’s Pilsner from Fremont Brewing. Tito’s Puptails will be available for the month of August, and a portion of the proceeds will be donated to PAWS in memory of Ruth and Prince.
